blackcurrant, shortbread & black tea
More body than is known from other Kenyan coffees
High sweetness, round and creamy mouthfeel
The long search has paid off: we finally have a Kenyan coffee in our range again, and a natural one at that. It is very sweet, complex and yet has many of the flavours we appreciate in a Kenyan - berries, black tea and well-integrated acidity. But our Gloria is not like all the others: The coffee convinces with a bigger body than what we are normally used to from Kenyan coffees. Perfect for an espresso or filter coffee.

Gloria, once a beauty industry professional, and Jarmo, an engineer working on African projects, came together through their respective careers. After acquiring a house with a farm, they decided to plant coffee, drawing from Jarmo’s experience in Rwanda and Gloria’s childhood connection to coffee. In 2010, they planted their first coffee trees.
Around 50 women working at Gloria's farm are working to form an official group to improve access to credit and resources by pooling monthly contributions. Once they reach 10,000 shillings, they will officially register. Gloria serves as an inspiration to these women through her successful business practices. On the farm, Sakami practices agroforestry by intercropping macadamia trees with coffee, preserving indigenous trees and wetlands, and using sustainable farming methods. They avoid pesticides, recycle organic waste for compost, treat water from coffee processing, and use mineral fertilizers to replenish soil nutrients.
Only fully ripe cherries are accepted for pulping, each cherry is hand picked by our dedicated women, up to over 100 during picking season.
